Trying to help a friend out atm.
he has a dual-boot setup with XP and 98SE.
he likes to delete random files....
XP now boots as far as scandisk, then reboots
98SE will load fine
I was going to try a repair or re-installation of XP as he has over 100gig of files that are very important to him.... you can guess what.....
When using a bootable CD,and making sure the BIOS bootlist is set to look at CDROM 1st, his computer ignores it and continues to load from IDE-0
When booting from XP boot disk's (made on my working machine and within his 98SE with the tool from microsoft.com) the boot works until the end of all 6 (yes six!!) disk's have loaded then we are shown a BSOD :/
Has anyone heard or come across this before??
Any suggestions?
