Need a good cpu cooler for antec veris fusion remote?

    Hi
have finished building my first htpc the only thing i need now is a good cpu cooler to replace the amd stock cooler as it is not very good and is too noisy for my set up, but this is were i am having trouble as i only have a max height off 120 mm in my case i cant seem to find a good cooler that will fit in my case and let me do a bit off light overclocking and keep my temps down to a reasonable rate and also be quiet at the same time, Have searched google and most peaple who have had the same problem used the scythe ninja mini, but you can not buy this great cooler no more .So if anyone could help me and recommend a good cooler i can use i would be very grateful and don,t mind spending about £40 on one .......thanks again for any help i can get

I went for the Scythe Shuriken in my Antec HTPC build:

Cool and quiet, even though it is cooling a Phenom II X4 BE

Re: Need a good cpu cooler for antec veris fusion remote?

thanks for the quick reply dave87, did have a look at the Scythe Shuriken you mention but the problem i have is that i bought corsair vengeance with the fins on and looking at your pic it will block off the first memory socket on the motherboard, is it possible to rotate the Shuriken 90 degrees? so as the heat pipes are not sticking over the memory slot?........any chance you could tell me what gpu card you got in your case and the maximum height of card i could but in there? as thats the next thing i want to buy ...thanks

Re: Need a good cpu cooler for antec veris fusion remote?

I've not tried rotating it, mainly because I'm only running 4gb of RAM in it so the outer two slots were fine

The graphics card in the picture is a HD4830 and it isn't as tall as the divider in the case, so you should be alright in that regard with most cards. That said, length would probably then become the issue - its not the deepest of cases.

Re: Need a good cpu cooler for antec veris fusion remote?

thanks for replying, have checked my motherboard and think i can get away with putting my memory in slots 2 and 4 so they can still run in duel channel, is that the normal shuriken or the the big one?
