    Reccomend me a good Printer/MFD

    I'm after a printer or maybe a printer/scanner/fax all in one thing.
    I have virtually no experience or knowledge in this department so i was wondering if someone could reccomend me a decent one.
    Budget is upto about £100 or £150 for a half decent MFD (multi function device)

    So far I'm contemplating a Cannon MPC 360/370 linky

    Comments/suggestions appreciated

    Thanks.

    on the whole flatbed devices don't have fax facility, and sheet-feed devices aren't useful for most home scanning tasks.

    my dad has the canon, he's happy enough with it - the print mechanism is from an S300, so ask someone about that

    After working somewhere with an HP MFD, I have grown to hate the things. If part of it breaks, the rest of it can become pretty useless...

    Canon are making good printers at the moment though.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    HP ink 5 cents to manufacture $17 in US and £17 in UK no compatible cartridges because of the buit in print head which doesn't need replacing with every cartridge so only reason it's like this is to rip people off... IMO

    Canon inks less than £2 each for compatibles. User replacable print head should you ever need to change it and I have not needed to do this in two years heavy usage.

    Don't know much about multi-funtion devices but happy with my canon printers.

    Actually you can get compatible cartridges for HP printers & 1 of the magazines just did a printer review where the HP's worked out cheaper to run than the Canon's anyway (depending upon print volumes/mix).

    Looks like they use Black no.56 (about £12 delivered from MX2) & tricolour no.57 (about £17 delivered from MX2) for official HP cartridges.

    the problem with the HP devices is the software - they require about 15 processes loaded and only operate with windows running every last one of them

    that used to be the case, anyway
