COPIED HERE BY ZAK33, cos this lot in here are all quite smart and MIGHT not visit Cars n Bikes and therefore might miss the thread.
Not sure where to put this, but if its in the wrong place.... please feel free to move.
Anyway - Ive decided to replace the dash and door panels (and anything else I can find!) with Carbon Fibre (dragster - not the 'road' car).
Now - the last time I did any composite work was back many moons ago at Britannia Airways.... I have 2 books on order from Amazon (just to refresh my memory) so... does anyone have any hints / tips for normal layup without vacpacs and autoclaves![]()
As much as I would love to have this professionaly done - the price for what will be a one off run, is just WAY out there, money that can be spent on other things !!!![]()
Im guessing the door panels will be as simple as laying up each one on glass (as has been suggested by the vendor of the cloth) therefore getting a nice finish, the dash I can see having problems with due to the shape (though I have the original available to make a mould)
Cheers
Iain
