Personally I'd say to get an nforce2 mobo, cheap ones can be had for the same price as the one you've mentioned there.
RAM, you don't want ECC really or pc2100 - the Barton 2500 runs @ 333, so you need at least pc2700, but the price of pc3200 is about the same and leaves some room for overclocking as well - so go for pc3200.

Yeah Skattrd is right you dont need ECC memory at all thats mainly used for servers and workstations, and you need 2700 ram minimum for bartons and 3200 isnt much more and you may be able to overclock to 400FSB with it.

    Get this memory from Komplett..
    TwinMOS PC3200 TwiSTER DDR 256MB CL2 Chip = WLCSP, (DDR-PC400MHz) £38.78
    http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=120095&cks=PRL
Obviously you'll want two stick's so thats £77.56 and £5 for delivery i think.

I think the motherboard you picked is good, but not as good for overclocking (Thats if your going to do that.)

Get an XP-M 1500+ from CPUCity if they've got any left. After sorting out my Windows install I managed a pretty much instant 1ghz overclock just by upping the multiplier. Cheaper at £30. Also see if Retek have any 9500s left at £35.

If you're looking at a mobile chip from cpucity then you might look at the adata RAM they have as well (saves postage) and personally I've RMA'd 6 sticks of twinmos twister so couldn't reccomend it.
As mobo's the Asus is a good one and theres always an NF-7

so, two sticks of ADATA 256MB PC3600 DDR450 CL2.5 08xCHIP exactly the same price as the twinmos twisters, looks good to me (and, like you say save postage)

    - as for the CPU, acctally, thats the std 2500barton, not the mobile one, which performs better?? - the mobile is £16 more - but if it perform as well, i might get it, because im trying to make the a uber-quiet rig - so a low heat CPU would be great.

    thanks daniel

The Mobile Performs better as it is designed to run at a very low Voltage, so if you overclock you get a lot of head room before the CPU starts to get too hot. (Well thats my understanding of it.)

Obviously if you leave the mobile at it's standard speed it will run cooler than the Barton and you can use a less powerful fan to cool it.
