go for a wavemaster if you have the money
Also you might want to go for 1GB of RAM?
I would have thought that it would be better to get a X800Pro but i guess that's upto you?
-
Its a dual channel kit so it is 1GB - why do you say it may be better to get a x800pro??
Thanks in advance

Well i'm not an expert so i might be wrong.
The GT is the lowest spec of 6800 Cards I think isn't it?
I would think that for the same amount of money you could get a X800Pro which should perform much better with AA/AF enabled
I might be wrong so wait for someone else to reply

You are wrong the 6800 is the lowest and the 6800GT is the full 16 pipeline part and IMO better than the x800pro however it is more expensive so the extra performance is not for free.
Looks like you have done your research and some decisions are cosmetic ie the sony has a silver facia I presume. What's it costing out of interest?
-
At the moment its costing £1252 + delivery - but i have to admit to having a few problems pressing the buy button. I keep considering other options like a barton chip with a NF7-S or a CRT screen, or a 9800 pro?! Also still considering the options on a s939 rather than the 754.
On the other hand i may just decide to buy!
With regards to the DVD writer im also considering the NEC Dual layer writer?!

Yeah I can understand your hesitation. It's a kind of all or nothing situaton at the moment especially with the next generation graphics proving to be CPU limited.
-
I'd prefer the 6800Gt over the x800pro atm also...the NEC writer is highly highly recommended...if you're unsure, there's no harm in waiting - platforms will mature, prices will drop, etc - I'd also be very tempted (if I had the money at this moment) to wait some time for socket 939 to bcome affordable.
I'd also agree with the case choice...although I'd be tempted to get it (and your drives) in black...purely cosmetic opinion there though ;)
Otherwise that does look well researched.
-
I certainly take your point byatt - platforms will always mature and prices will always drop ;) i think its just a case of buying the best that you can afford at the time! I'm hoping that i wont have to be upgrading for the forseable future! My GF4 Ti4200 lasted me a couple of years at least!

Well you either get a new PC now (Top spec) and have few choices when BT comes out or wait until then or get a cheap PC now and then buy a top spec BTW system later on
-
id recommend the 1gb of ram!
