    HD7800 series specifications leaked!!

    More details here:

    http://vr-zone.com/articles/amd-rade...led/15107.html

I suspect the HD7870 should be in between an HD6950 and HD6970.

It looks the GPU is going to be smaller than the one in the HD6870.

I dont think it would be as low as £170, would be great if it is. But I will be seriously tempted if it is just over £200, if not I will probably be going for a 7850, depending on benchmarks against the 560ti of course

Was hoping you had more insight than whats been posted already.

Well the $299 figure isn't it, joking aside!

Thanks CAT, wonder what performance will be like for the HD7850 2Gb?

Might be around HD6870 1GB level performance but with the same power consumption as HD6850 1GB?? Hopefully,it will closer to an HD6950!!

    Re: HD7800 series specifications leaked!!

It seems the results I quoted are from this article:

    http://www.3dcenter.org/

    It has more benchmarks.

    Re: HD7800 series specifications leaked!!

Thanks, both the HD7850 and the HD7870 are looking good with those numbers!

    We'll find out soon enough.

    Re: HD7800 series specifications leaked!!

I hope that 3DCenter site isn't right on 7870 pricing!

"Radeon HD 7870 ... list price about $ 349, street price around 310 € (estimated)"

I thought the 7870 was supposed to be coming in at ~$300 / £225 in the UK inc VAT. The benchmark figures look pretty decent for the 7870 though.

    Re: HD7800 series specifications leaked!!

Initially the info/rumour was that the 78xx offerings would take care of the sub-$300 market, which I had assumed would mean 7870s going on sale for about £220. It's not looking that way now, though.

If those benchmarks hold true, I guess AMD will be pricing the 7850 2GB at £200, in line with its 6950-like performance. Possibly a little north of that price, considering the current pricing of the 77xx cards and their relative performance compared with 68xx, and also the improved power draw on the new-gen cards.

Meh... I was hoping the 7850 2GB would be no more than £180, with perhaps a 1GB version priced at £150ish. I guess that's not looking very likely with the way AMD have priced the 7 series so far. I'm itching to upgrade my 4850 512MB to a 7850 2GB, but I guess I might have to wait until NVIDIA force some competitive pricing out of AMD. Here's hoping Kepler comes out end of March and is actually pretty good!
