    Electronic Centripetal Acceleration

    Lo all,

A short while ago I tried to set up a Gigabit LAN at my house. Unfortunately it always has a huge amount of lost packages.
I have checked all possible error sources, therefore there is only one possibility:

In my house there are some long floors and doors, so my network line has many turns to take.
However because of the highspeed datatransfer there is centripetal acceleration in the cable itself.
So the data can't get the corner, and fly's out of the cable.
However i don't want to make holes through my walls and Wireless Lan is at the moment quite expensive still so i can't afford it.

Is there a possibillity that the data can manage the centripetal acceleration and still be able to take the turns? Maybe special cables? Strange to say but i also didn't find anything on Google about it.

For help i would be realy thankful .

    ERU

You won't because there's no such thing.

You may also find you are losing data through rapid acceleration and decceleration at the start and end of the cables. Try wraping the first and last metre of the cables with non-slip sleeving to aid traction.

So do you think i could somehow calcualte an acceleration and deceleration motion. As can be seen the acceleration phase takes up a percentage of the total movement recorded. When this (and the deceleration phase) are removed we have the isokinetic range of motion (IROM) as the total ROM is not all isokinetic movement.

Without knowing which stage the greatest loss is occuring at, this could be impossible to calculate. Try using a coffeecup to catch the data which is failing to slowdown and so overshoots your computer.

Be careful as some of this data may contain viruses. Make sure you don't drink any spilt data from this coffee cup.

Very true. This should be cooked at 180 degrees gas mark 4 for about 35-40 minutes and ensure it is piping hot throughout before serving. Good with mashed potatoes and your choice of root vegitable (not compatible with linux users).

Zathras if you don't know what your talking about then keep your mouth shut, thanks. ( )

I had exactly the same cornering problem ERU, it's a bloddy pain, and i know you're disapointed cos you were looking foward to that gigabit lan.. I tried loads of things in the end...have you checked the microsoft knowledge base? I found that quite helpfull. In the end i found that you have to apply a decelerating electrical/magnetic force to lower the electrical potential just before a corner. This _DOES_ slow network performance by about 20%, but it got my network working so im happy

I used these in the end, because i was on quite a tough budget...

Not sure about how you could prevent packet slippage though...

hope this helps and keep us to date yeah

Just to clarify for people who don't know, there is no such thing as electronic centripetal acceleration. Electrons are in effect massless so don't get 'thrown' about at corners. Effects of sharp bends on gigabit cable are due to cross-talk, reflection and electromagnetically-induced currents and are nothing whatsover to do with the 'data' falling out of the cable.

Am I going to have to intervene here or are you all going to patch things up yourselves?

There is a smiley present in the forum database for a reason. Maybe it should be used next time.

cor...this has attracted lots of lovely Mods ....

err......if some explained to me what on earth possibilty there was of an elctron falling out of a cable I'd be happy to listen.

But cos I don't KNOW if its true or rubbish, I shall keep my sense of humour plugged in.

Funnel mate...I THINK Zath was joking..I really do
