MBM development ends!

For years I, along with thousands of others, have used Motherboard Monitor to keep an eye on PC temps, fan speeds and voltages. However, it looks like development has come to and end. Taken from the MBM site:

January 21st 1998 the Internet saw the 1st version of MBM v. 1.0
Juli 6th 2004, about 7.5 years later the MBM development comes to a stop

Yes you read it right, after thinking about it for several weeks I have decided to stop development on MBM. Over the years many (if not all) clones appeared that tried to do what MBM did. Some succeeded others did not. Some I feel where technically and user wise better then MBM but with an average of 6000 hits a day and coverage on almost every PC magazine in the world it still seems to be the most popular monitoring tool around. And it is better to stop at your peak

Anybody else going to miss it?

That is a shame, i liked it and i will really miss it. I'll just have to make sure i buy motherboards that it already supports

Gutted, relied on MBM like it was a part of the machine

The real shame is that it can't be open-sourced so that somebody can carry on with developing it...

So, what alternatives do we have?

Thats a big shame . I use MBM all the time. It will surely be sorely missed by anyone who takes their mobo temps and voltages seriously

Yeah I'd like to know that too. Obviously there are some but they'd better be good

There's speedfan I think, but it doesn't look at good.

Gutted, a top utility, has and 'would have' always surpassed the manufacturers MB monitors...

Indeed, 7.5yrs is a long time to continually develop something and still insist on giving it as freeware. Huge kudos to Alex

I won't be disapointed - I did use it although it does use quite a large chunck of resources, for all the system testing I do etc. with reviewing I allways use a program called MBProbe - its tiny and works just as well minus all the graphs etc.

Nope, it was far too bulky and resource hugry for what it was.

I'd hardly call 4-5 MB of RAM resource-hungry
