venice vs opteron

im seeing people selling opterons and wanting venice? may i ask why? i thought opterons were a64 bit cpu and with 1024 l2 cache instead of venice 512 l2 so whats happening as im still desidiing on either a opteron or a venice for new computer

They are trying to make money - sell the Opteron for more than they paid & pick up a Venice cheaply from someone going Opteron.
At the end of the day they are both pretty overclockable & the extra cache adds only a few % in 3D apps.
