    bios update.. wots the point?

    just wondering here guys, i have an asus a7v8x-x mobo, with the bios that came with it on my pc wen i built it, in january of this year, but ive heard, and ppl have told me to update my bios, wot exactly are the advantages, of this, it wouldnt increase wot fsb i could get wood it, i dont think so, hmm, but wot would it do? , maybe this is a stupid question, so ill get my flame proof gloves on here for reposting, lol

    ah well i guess i shoudl just leave it , lol, is it not liek overclocking, there may be extras that we coudl take form updating out bioses, but were missing out on them, ah well ill leav it

    Usually there should be release notes that tell you what has been fixed/added.
    & yes sometimes new BIOS do increase performance but in general if you don't know that you have a problem don't bother.

    There's no point updating the bios on that board for overclocking as the bus can only be set to 100,133,166 and 200.
