With the prices now confirmed I think I'm going to be paying the little bit extra and getting myself one of the new I7 CPUs, I just hope a corsair H100 will offer enough cooling to OC this bad boy up to about 4.5Ghz

After reviewing the cost of an Ivy Bridge processor coupled with having to also get an Ivy Bridge suitable MOBO I'm going to leave off. The reviews haven't been overly great with a lot of complaints about heat generation. That coupled with the fact a new MOBO will probably be needed for Haswell I just cant justify the additional cost right now.
Think I'm going to play it safe and stick with a Sandy Bridge 2500k and a cheaper Z65/68 MOBO.

If you've got a SB i really dont think it's worth an upgrade, buying new there's not really any price difference to warrant only getting a SB. So for me coming from Q6600 i think IB is the way to go, if you got an SB though i dont see the point wait for the tock.

SB need less cooling when pushing the overclock - after a certain voltage temperatures jump massively. An SB CPU can basically run at a higher clockspeed when heavilly overclocked using cheaper cooling.

If you are running at stock clockspeeds or doing a milder overclock especially when using stock voltages,IB seems to be the way to go.

Also remember ALL IB CPUs so far are engineering E0 examples. E1 production samples have a larger IGP section and a large die overall.

I hope that is true. What we really need now is few retail samples reviews.

I'm curious to know how well the HD4000 overclocks. I agree there's not much case for Ivy Bridge based on the CPU processing performance alone if it's not better to overclock. I was hoping we'd see single Core speeds over 5ghz.
