Sensible build for 4vs4 Starcraft 2 battles

Can somebody please spec me a rig including a monitor (1080p) for SC2 battles?

Unfortunately, I couldn't follow the GPU, CPU, etc advancements since the 6970 series.

    thank you

    Hey,

We just need a few bits of info to help us get started:

What setup do you have now?

How much £££ do you have in your budget?

    Will you need an OS?

Do you have any preferences with the build aside from SCII?

    Thanks,
    Rookie ^^

Re: Sensible build for 4vs4 Starcraft 2 battles

It's gonna be for a friend and only for playing starcraft 2 and some basic stuff (office etc).

I've just checked the CPUs but I'm not sure which one to choose (i5 or i7 or AMD?), not to mention the socket as it seems they changing that a lot more nowadays.

I'm playing it on a 4.5Ghz i7 SB/HD6970, though for the friend's PC I'd like to go with cheaper price/performance oriented components.

Do you think SC2 would run smoothly on a lesser CPU?

I also feel that a 7970/680 might be an overkill too, so we could save some money there as well.

    Thanks

Its all about this ^ without a set point to aim for its very difficult to say what you should get. If you could set a budget that you would want us to stick to it makes things loads easier especially seeing as you're wanting a good system and a VDU including in the price.
