Looking for 5v Maxtor power adapter or an alternative ?

Im looking for a 5V power adapter for my Maxtor OneTouch III Mini External hard .

I thought I might be able to find one cheap on ebay but the best I can do £6.12 with p&p.

Unless i can find one cheaper ,would there be any issues using another alternative 5v adapter ( never tried it ) , and has any one seen better than £6.12 ?

    cheers

looks like it's only 5volt 2.5A so any power adaptor that can supply the correct voltage at at least 2.5a, which had the correct connector and poles (+ & - are round the right way) would work.

    £6.12 seems pretty cheap
Something like a mobile phone charger is cheaper but that's because they only supply around 500mA (0.5a)
