You will want ata133 cables, not ata100. As this will limit all drives to ata100.

Also, are you planning on overclocking the CPU? If you are, you'll need a better HSF than the retail one. One of these for example:

Super Flower 702 is great for the money - get a 120mm fan & wire grill for the exhaust & cut out the stock pierced one (you can also cut out some of the metal up front behind the faceplate for better airflow).

I also thought that you were going to pay the extra to get an NF7-S V2.0

    How about memory?

    No it won't.

    ATA66 cable = ATA100 cable = ATA 133 cable. They're all the same.
Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

Good chioces there, if you can afford a little more then I say get the mobile 2500+. if you overclock you will get some nice speed from it, Ive got one sat at 2.5GHz , In a shuttle .
If you dont want to overclock then the low voltage will provide a nice cool stable computing experience.

Round cables? Waste of money imo, You can route flat cables much better and get a much better result with them, for example a flat cable will route behind the mobo compeatly out of site where as a round cable will be hanging there looking ugly.

NF7S V2.0, fantastic mobo, Ive used one and cant fault it, if you plan to overclock hard you might want to look at putting some heatsinks on the power mosfets as these get very hot, same for the southbridge, the heatsinks will only cost a few quid.

Saphire 9800 Pro, again great card and good choice, will provide many hours of gaming bliss

    Hope this helps.

    40 wire = ATA 33 cables, 80 wire is for ATA 66 / 100 / 133, both cables use 40 pin connections

Right, upgraded the mobo to the nf-7s
Memmory im ok for, got 1gig of ddr lying about.
As for overclocking im looking to do the fsb up to 200 to get 3200 out of it , a guy on ebuyer reviews said he did it with the supplied fan on air .. sound right?
Also whats the difference between the mobile and normal chip?

As for fans and stuff, is this sort of thing good (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=56771)
Im not sure what you mean about needing to get a grill, does this replace a grill on the case? Is this a replacement for an existing fan in teh case?

I just looked at heatsinks for a little, it seems that a nice chunky HS is the way to go, and to splash out on some good compounds.. This seems to be the only one ebuyer do and its trashed in the reviews (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=28654)
I suppose I should go to something like ocuk instead for some nice compund..

Sorry about all the questions by the way, the first few questions kinda spawned fifty other questions

You will find that not all normal 2500+ will go to 3200+. Some don't even get there with an increased voltage. If you want to be sure of 3200 spped then buy a 3200 or a mobile 2500. However, it could work. If that is as far as you are clocking then the standard HSF should be fine, although a bigger one with a larger fan would be quieter.

hmmm ok whilst we are on this subject mind if i whack my UG up tell me what u think of it:

gonna get a 64 3000+ and OC it to 2.45
1 GB of corsair value select, have been told that this should be ok for OCing
    Gigabyte 3D cooler
    Q-Tec 550w PSU
    MSI K8N - NEo platinum
BFG 6800GTOC which i will push to U speed

will probably get a SATA drive too but im not sure which one any ideas? Anyone know if i can use my current IDE as a storage drive and a SATA as a system drive. Also mulling over wheter to go for better ram (although will cost more) and water cooling so i can OC the nuts off it
