    Mx518 - ?

So after reading some other threads on here where people were discussing gaming mice I decided to check to see if my trusty, almost 2 year old, Logitech MX518 is still on sale and I found this:

    http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/347871...%7Cprd:3478717

Seriously?!?! £60 for an MX518? Someone is taking the mickey. Don't get me wrong its probably still one of the best gaming mice ever made (mine is still not far off pristine after 2 years) but I almost spat my coffee over my screen when I saw this!

I'm thinking of selling mine now lol

EDIT: Oh my word - a used one is on Amazon for £105? I know I've been out of the loop in terms of hardware for a wee while but what the hell is going on?

Just because they are priced at that doesn't mean people are buying them though lol! Amazon, eBay and loads of other etailers are flooded with overpriced hardware that will never sell.

Lol I know - I just couldn't believe there were people actually trying to sell a mouse that cost £20 new for 3 times the price! Even Cash Converters have one for sale at £35 incl postage.

Looks like it was a good buy. Wouldn't have thought it would gain value lol

its amazing the prices people will pay for stuff though. i swapped my old version logitech g5 for the newer one a few years ago (only differences being the new one was blue and had a rubberised back), sold the old one on ebay for over a tenner more than i brought the new one from dell!

eBays good for stuff like that, people seem to get in a frenzy if they have been watching//bidding on something all week and then look like they are going to get out bid at the last minute. My mother is one of the worst she's even fell for eBays phrasing of things and refers to "buying" something as "Winning"

OTH,perhaps some other companies mice too. Logitech don't necessarily make the most reliable products, despite all the love for them. Its the same with Corsair PSUs,people have too much love for them, and ignore the competition many times even though they might have better products.

Both my G5s failed due to a design fault.

Yeah I read your other post. That sucks mate. Dunno about their other/newer mice but the 518 is solid as a rock even after 2 years of sustained use. Honestly doesn't feel any different to the day I bought it. Even the buttons show no sign of wear. Maybe 'they just don't make em like they used to'...

    Re: Mx518 - ?

The MX518 is an absolutely cracking mouse, best £18 I've ever spent on a peripheral but for £69 from play.com? You could get a Cyborg R.A.T. 7 for that kind of money. In the immortal words of Darryl Kerrigan "Tell 'im, he's dreamin'"

Talking of things that have gone up in price. I found my LG W2363D monitor for sale the other day. Bought it last July for £129 and it seems that you can't get it cheaper than £270 now!
