Tagen 380, 480 or Thermaltake 480?

Just been having a look around and found 2 other PSUs to concider

1) Tagen 330W ~ £40
2) SilentX 300W ~ £60

So, does that make a differnce to the choice i should make?

Oh and on a side note, does sound add up or do you only hear the loudest thing?
E.g) 25dB + 20dB = 45dB or 25dB?

If you are not after a 400+ then there is the Antec Smartblue 350 for £41.02, which is very pretty has blue leds, don't know if there is a CWT equal for cheaper.

SilentX 300W are supposed to be the best but you do pay by the looks of it. You could always get the jeantech I have "Jeantech 450W 120mm fan" its very quiet but rubish quality.

I believe the sound does add up but only increases a small amount i.e 25dB + 25dB = 28dB

There is little point in me having LEDs in a PSU as i don't have a window in my case.

The SilentX does cost a lot but i only need a 300W and it should be very quiet which is a good thing is noise builds up!

Not too sure on Jeantech, i have one at the moment and it's sooooo noisy

I spent a fair bit of money trying to quieten my Pc down but after spending £80 on fans and a new PSU I found out it was the case, switched from a jeantech case to a chieftec and the difference was amazing.

well im currently using a Dell so i can't swap the case without getting a new Motherboard aswell

And before people say anything my PSU is standard ATX, note i have a Jeantech PSU in there at the moment

i think its time for another thread, silence is the most important thing for me!

Im not overclocking or anything so there isn't much else to worry about.

Another vote for Thermaltake here, as I have the Butterfly 480w, super quiet and plenty of molex connectors here, that was another point of consideration for me, as I have the Xaser III case with plenty of fans!
