If you have a Nvidia chipset based motherboard then the following link maybe of use to you

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/sysutility.html

    download http://www.nvidia.com/object/sysutility_1.08.5.html

Other than that - if you search for Motherboard Monitor in google this is a fairly good program that shows fans speeds, temps ETC

If you would care to post your system spec that will make life easier as some programmes work with 1 flavour of e.g gfx chip.

Another good util for nForce based mobos is 8rdavcore.
More generally Speedfan is another alternative.

I prefer 8rdaVcore but Clockgen works OK for me (unless you push it too far ).

I use that nvidia util without any real issues apart from when I get cocky and try and raise my FSB to 425 Mhz from 420 MHz. damn 2500+ doesn't like that sort of overclock I suppose
