Wasn't it something like 10 times more likely to experience drive failure with two drives in RAID0? So four drives in RAID0 would be data suicide!

RAID 5 is what you need... watch this space.

Not strictly true with regards to speed... well with read it is nearly but writes can be a different story.

Like I said though... watch this space (as in somebody might just be getting RAID5 soon... )

Kez: Since lots of sites like to say RAID 0 offers no improvements though, the speed difference probably wouldn't be noticable.

    However I'll watch this space...

Where did you get that figure from ?

Which, quite frankly, is rubbish. Most sites dont stress the drives in a way which would show the benefits.
RAID 0 is usfull....when used in the right circumstances.

Real world as in desktop usage ?
Like i said above, you wont see the benefit of RAID 0, unless its used in the right situation. If its not being used in the right situation, then it is pointless running it.

Its like me saying that a 6800ultra shows no advantage in real world performance for me. The bit im failing to mention is i run nothing more than a Linux CLI on this machine....
