    New Ram?

Just wanted your opinion. Firstly, do you think 512mb is enough for now?

Secondly, if I do decide I want 1gb, should I buy some RAM that isn't TwinMOS with Winbond (since Komplett don't seem to do it anymore), or should I buy a completely new set of RAM?

If I do buy a new set of RAM (or add to the RAM I have) what type should I buy? At the moment I'm looking at either Crucial or Crucial Ballistix - but I could save quite a bit of money by going with normal Crucial. Do you think the timings are worth that much? Or is there some other RAM I should get (not expensive stuff like Corsair though - bit too pricey for me!)

    Thanks

    Mike

can i ask what's so special about it?

I think that a gig of patriot from Tekheads for £145 when it comes in stock is good for reasonably strict timings, or for high FSB and cheap prices £120 for a gig of GeIL Value from microdirect...this stuff will do 245mhz +

Nope £89 inc VAT per 512Mb stick less 4% if you buy 2 or the 5% web coupon (can't use both together).

    It's the difference in taxation.
In the UK you are charged VAT at source on internet sales, in the US they don't charge sales tax out of state - you are meant to declare it & pay in your tax return if you buy from out of state (nobody does though so there is meant to be a change/crackdown coming).

Well, if they start charging at source too there won't be a lot that you & uncle jeff can do!
Mind you 6-8% sales tax is better than 17.5% VAT
