Pure Gold? Or Pure Q-tec?

ok so ive been lookin at watercooling for a whiel now

and i have noticed sumthin common about all teh setups, THERE WELL DEAR!!!!, until i spotted this, theyre about 50 quid, and its an all in one watercooling solution , but the only problem there is is that its from q-tec, yknow the worst company on earth, but do you think, jsut cos they make krap psu's. they would make krap watercooling rigs? ok so wots u guys verdict anyone got one, or read reviews on it?

lol a low budget, atm its like 50 quid cos ive jsut bought loads of other stuff, ne1 else got any reviews on it, i thot u used q-tec psu's anyway shogun

Erm, i hope he knows that they ground through the heatsink? So would make all the metal piping/water in his system live. This I don't think would prove very healthy for his system, do you?

uhh uve kinda mised my point here mate, its water cooling a cpu, not watercooling a q tec psu, lol but major credit to the boy on that link who put two dangerous things together in a case, a q tec psu and water, risky sheet, lol

has any1 actualyl got 1 of these?

I've spoken to people who have and they said it wasn't worth it. They recommended just buying a very good heatsink and fan (swiftech/thermalright/zalman) and saving the cash. They perform better than that watercooling kit and are almost certainly quieter.

Nope. While most of the components are isolated devices anyway, they all have mica shims to isolate them. Some PSU's don't. and watercooling them without adding shims in this manner would be a Very Bad Thing (tm). On the plus side, water-cooling a q-tec might help to put it out when it catches fire.

lol, but most liely it may just spark itself into submission and then the qtec would electriify the water, god knows wot could happen if a pc was made entirely of q-tec components

Yeah - those sort of kits aren't really worth it, saw a review of a similar kit by evercool, really wasn't good, lol.

I don't have a watercooled PSU though. My concern with that is that not all the components inside that get warm are attached to those heatsinks, they are cool enough with the breeze from the fan. Taking the fan away and just cooling the very hot components means that the warm components are then put in stagnant air, to get hotter, and hotter. I have a huge slab of alu on my very hot components and a pabst 12dB. It's not fanless, but it is silent. I'm more concerned with the racket my Maxtor HDDs make.

Home made wall mountable radiator by the looks of it. Is it easy to get a good solder contact for that?

Why would it be pointless? Could be integrated into a room being cooled completely passively and if polished up would look good aswell
