    CD Burner ...weird situation...

    How about this then?

Got this burner in a new machine with XP Pro and Full Retail version of Nero 6.

If I use it to back up a proper Audio CD, using Nero Express Copy CD function, the resulting disk will play in PC's, my Pioneer DVD player, Sair's Sony stereo, and most peoples car CD players....

but it WONT play in my Vauxhall CD players...neither my Corsa nor Sair's Astra.

    Must be the disks right?

Nope.....same batch of 100, I have copied other disks using both MY SCSI drive and Sair's Liteon.....no worries...plays in ALL the machines, car included.

Can use the COPIED disk from the Sony machine, in my SCSI PC, use Nero and burn one that works fine using the same packet of disks!!!

Whats goin on? How can one burner make disks that work in 90% of machines, and yet another burner using the samje disks, make ones that work in all?

Im thinking its the lazer and dye issues, Ive had this problem with many drives over the years. My Pioneer 106 wont even burn this one type of CD even though it completes the burn cycle in nero. Recheck the disc after and its still empty. Yet my external drive burns them fine.

but it DOES play in 90% of steroes.....just not n Vauxhall ones

Which is weird cos the same disks made in other burners DO play

Laser issue? Temperature kinda thing? I was thinking more like a format situation...like maybe the Table of Contents or summit like that was in the wrong place...but that cant be it cos I use Nero 6 myself

what speed are you buring at? I know I was able to burn at 24x and it played in my VDO dayton changer, but my friends had a slightly older model VDO changer and the speed at which I had burned the discs meant it did not work in thiers.....

    oooooohh....

    err.....

No Multi....its COPY MODE...its not an option I dont think

Disk at Once....yup......not 96, confirmed Checked that yesterday.
CD text? What on earth is that?
    Mode 1....once again, yup.
File names? Dunno....is a straight copy

What disks.....white ones from Ebuyer in a 100 cake box..but to confirm I use them COS THEY NEVER USED to give me any hasle and still work 100% on other burners...Diskrite I think

    Slower.....bingo...I shall try that

Ah if its a straight copy then CD text and file name sizes doesnt matter. You doing a CD to CD or CD to wave to CD? Might be worth stripping the files out if you arent.
