just wondering how much stuff i could run off this with it remaining stable

so far have 2 hdds, 4 80mm fans, nexus fan controller, cdr and dvd drive, floppy, 2 UV cathodes, soundblaster live drive,9700 pro

looking to add another hd, hd cooler

oh yeah...how loud would a 55dba fan be?

It should manage it, but check your voltages as they are.

You can of course work it out with a calculator if you want to be pedantic. All hd manufacturers give current values for the different voltage rails, and you can work it our for the fans.

I have 3hds, 3 fans, 3cd/dvd drives (although not all used at once) running on an nf7-s with a 1700+ xp and GF4 4400.

What PSU are you using for this?

also, have you got your xp1700+ clocked at all?

If you want reference on how loud 55dB is, go to your local computer store and ask them to install a Delta Black Label 80x80x38mm (I think) fan on the system exhaust and listen... I don't think you're going to like it...

guess 55dba is a bit OTT
whats a good 80mm fan for a h/s?
got a fan controller, so can adjust speed to quiteen down

I tend to use either YS-Tech ball bearing units (1.92W) or Evercool sleeve bearing units (1.38W, I think)...
