That ram should be ok with that board as well as the other components. CDRWs are CDRWs not much to say about them really. Liteon are a very good make though.

The memory's fine mate - seems quite cheap as well
As for the cdrw/dvd combo - why not spend an extra £15 or so and get a dvdrw ?
I wouldn't get the Retail 2500 though - the heatsink sucks and is not overclocking friendly - should be fine if you want to run at stock though

    thanks for the response.

probably not going to be overclocking, so the retail eill be fine i think.
have no real need for a dvdrw, but might consider it anyway.
think i will go ahead with the order then.

    nice one.

this is my first build so cant wait to get it done (and have been saving for ages)!!!!
    cheers.

I would highly recommend an OEM 2500+ and a decent, quiet, fan, a thermaltake SilentBoost for example. You WILL probably without a doubt be able to overclock it to 3200+ at least, with a semi-decent fan, and an OEM would be a few quids cheaper.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
