Custome Water cooler for 5870 Asus Matrix.

Hello, it has been a while but thought i would stop by for any suggestions. I have a Asus 5870 Matrix OC 2Gb Graphics card and it is loud.... really loud.
Now I have had water cooling in my system for some years and to be frank i dont really utilise any of it as i dont really over clock, i just likr the Quietness off it. So here is my plan.... I am going to buy something like a Corsair H60 and pop it on the GPU! I will then use some heatsinks and a 120 mm fan to blow cold air on to the Ram heat syncs. I have found a sample card as seen in the picture below. can anyone see any floors in my logic?

so far i have taken the stock cooler off. I plan on using the plastic casing and removing the heat sync from inside. cutting a hole large enough to fit the water block in for the corsair gear then using a 60mm fan in the hole left my the stock cooler.... I know the corsair will provide enough cooling for the GPU but do you think the fan will provide enough air flow for the ram chips? Looking forward to you knowledgable input!!

AFAIK the H60 will not fit as stock, so you cannot just "pop it on", however I know someone was making custom gpu brackets for it.

The VRM circuit is normally the next thing on the cooling list not the ram

The cooler is made up of multiple parts, back plate, shroud, gpu cooler, ram plate and VRM plate + blower

You're probably best off keeping the two sets of plates and the blower (if you're going to use the shroud.)
The h60 will bring the gpu temp down which should and the blower speed is normally controlled by the gpu temperature, so the blower should be less noisy.

Thanks pob, great advice. What about keeping the plates as pictured in the second picture and using an after market 80mm /60 mm fan connected to a 12 v? The standard gear is ear splitting loud even on lowest setting! I am trying to create as near to silent pc as possible!

Do you know who was selling the adapter plates for the water gear?
