    Spdif gtx260

    Heya!

Been a while since I last posted here. Received some awesome help here when I decided to build my own Desktop years ago, and hey, it's still working flawlessly and able to run anything I throw at it, so a job well done I'd say!

Anyhow, I have had a flatscreen LCD in my room for a while now which I've used to watch movies etc. you know the drill. My desktop is on the other side of the room, and as I have an DVI-HDMI cable connecting my desktop and LCD, the video can be seen from the LCD but the sound still comes from my desktop speakers. Which is no problem of course, but I got a nice soundset for my TV as well and having the sound coming directly from there would be a nice extra

I've looked into it a while back and now I have some spare time to fix this. But I'm not sure what exact type of cable I'm supposed to get, as before I looked into this, I had never heard of an SPDIF cable. I know that most versions of the GTX260 had an SPDIF cable come with the package, but I've checked and mine didn't have one. I have the very first version of the GTX260 (from Asus).

I have a few stores I can buy from (they are in Dutch though):
    Informatique
All Cables Store << When searching for S/PDIF it gives a list of loads of "Optic Cables", are these the same ones?
    Online Cables Store

My desktop information is in my profile, but just for convenience:
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0Ghz
    Motherboard: Asus P5Q Pro
    Memory: Corsair 2x2Gb PC2-6400 @ 4-4-4-12
    Storage: Western Digital 640Gb
    Graphics Card(s): Asus ENGTX260 896Mb
    PSU: Corsair HX520W
    Case: Antec Three Hundred
    Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
    Monitor(s): Samsung 2043BW 20"

    LCD TV: Sony 40" KDL-EX402

Supposedly I need an S/PDIF cable to connect my GTX260 to my motherboard to ensure sound is able to go through my DVI-HDMi cable. The GTX260 has a special output for it, and I've checked the Asus P5Q Pro should have a SPDIF output as well. I'm simply not sure what cable should I get to pull this off!

Any help is appreciated and if there's any additional information needed I will gladly provide!

    Thanks in advance.
