Gigabye 7970 and Antec 302 (thee hundred two)
Hi Guys,
I am planning on getting the gigabyte 7970 (not the referance card) The one with the 3 coolers and was wpndering if it would fit in my case. Now the card says it is 12.6" long and the case says it will support cards upto 12.5" so we are looking at a differance of 0.1".
On this case the hard drive bays are sideways and I don't really want to customer mod the case. Does anyone have this case and card together? Can post any images?
If not then is there a similar card that can perform as well that is a bit shorter than this one? From what I can see the gigabyte seems to be the best 7970 out there.
Thanks
Hugo

Lol please igonre I was comparing cm to inches, product descriptions 1 was in mm and the other in inches.
Looks like the Antec 302 can handle card up to 31.8cm and the gigabyte is on 12.6cm
Hope that is correct

I very much doubt the Gigabyte 7970 is only 12.6cm in length. It would make it the smallest current generation 3D card by a large margin! Given the size of a stock 7970, 12.6" is much more likely.
EDIT: Quick check on Gigabyte site...
1. GV-R797SO-3GD (the really beefy one): 30.3cm length.
2. GV-R797OC-3GD (triple fan but less beefy): 28.5cm length.
So you should be fine based on your supplied dimensions for the case assuming the power connectors are on the top for the GPU's (reference is).
