    Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional Soundcard?

Hi, been looking at this card for a few days now and find any proper reviews which wasn't biased about price, rather than performance. Having owned the xonar dg and dgx, both with faults. I wish to know peoples opinions on creative soundblaster cards, more so have you noticed a good improvement in sound via headphones?

the reviews kinda put it at a budget card, no decent parts on it such as op amps, capacitors etc. does the job and as amazon have it for £50 this weekend if its what your after you may as well buy it

it has a headphone amp so it will sound good and handle any headset you throw at it, i looked then decided im going for the xonar phoebus.

    Re: Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional Soundcard?

Yea, thats where I seen it, reviews didn't go much on it but that was at £120 or $150, but now under £50 sounds good. Had a faulty xonar dg which would either be volume full or very low. Should have known when amazon sent it in a plastic bag, no box etc stating it was new and quite obviously a customer return. Loved the sound of my dgx but kept crashing my pc every time i gamed. So without wasting more money I just want to know what creative are like as a company? sound wise, software etc.

    Re: Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional Soundcard?

lets see, company wise they have been the main player in gaming soundcards for years, supports terrible but you can get unified driver packs from the likes of daniel K, i use his drivers for my x-fi titanium.

if your budgets £50 your not going to be sorry with the built in headphone amp.

    Re: Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional Soundcard?

Hay Gonzo, thanks for your help, I always tend to stick with thinks I know, like Intel and not amd, ati, never tried nvidea. Yea, to be honest, £50 is about the amount I would spend on a sound card, just want to make sure its a good card before purchase. If needed, where can I get the daniel K drivers from, sorry to be a pain.

    Re: Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional Soundcard?

not sure they are out for that card yet as its still fully supported by creative

the official creative forums are the place to go and check though.

my cards not had an update for 2 years so they were needed in my case.

    Re: Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional Soundcard?

I think one of the major problems I was having when I was first looking for sound cards was that when I found one at a price I wished to pay, I would check out reviews or feedback in amazon etc and notice the cards cards being over 5 years old in some cases. Thats why I went with xonar as I couldn't distinguished what was creatives current sound cards were.
