best 2.1 speakers for under £60

hey there was wondering if any one knows of any good 2.1 speakers. As my Microlab M700 2.1 speaker cable pin has just broken on the left speaker, Also was wondering if i could keep the subwoofer and plug some other speakers in it? if so what would be the best thing to do?

Creative T20s would be your best bet, although they are 2.0. Still very good speakers you should make a decision on whether you need a sub or not

Re: best 2.1 speakers for under £60

well i do like the sub as it gives out loads of bass for the FPS games i play and the action movies i watch, so a sub would be nice

How about something like these which are well under your budget.

    creative-inspire-a220-2.1-speakers-black-9w £25
    creative-inspire-t3130-2.1-speaker-system-black-20w £35

Or these which are just a bit over your budget

    logitech-z523-dark-speaker-system-2.1 £70

sorry but i can't post links at the moment as im under 5 posts (to prevent spamming apparently)

Re: best 2.1 speakers for under £60

I agree with dacads, 2.0 is the best bet.

You'll get much more quality out of a £60 2.0 set than a £60 2.1 set. And the bass is still very good.

I managed to get a set of T40 speakers for around this pricepoint, but that was a special deal. Might be a little bit out of your price range, but there's more than enough power behind them for me.

I had a Logitech 5.1 system before, but the quality was nowhere near as good as these. If you think about it, £60 on 2 speakers means £30 each, £60 on 3 means £20 each. And in my experience, the difference in quality is telling.

I'd agree with the others. Best 2.1 PC speaker set I had were some Aegos I picked up on offer for about £80 many a year ago, I'd had quite a few creative and logitech sets previous to that.

Re: best 2.1 speakers for under £60

Well since were getting a bit more into the quality, as i thought originally he just wanted some alright speakers for a price. So how about these 2.0 monitors:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/micro...remote-control

Cheaper than the Creative and look like they'll be putting out a better all round sound than the similarly priced T40's. Suppose the issue is desk space though as it does contain a 6.5" cone.

If i had the desk space I'd grab a pair of them myself....well actually I'd probably go for its bigger brother
