    Seagate to buy ocz

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...ionNews&rpc=43

Reuters) - Shares of OCZ Technology Group Inc spiked as much as 21 percent in early trade on a report that larger rival Seagate Technology Plc has offered to buy out the solid-state hard drive maker.

Fudzilla.com, a hardware industry blog, reported on Thursday that Seagate is considering acquiring OCZ to boost its solid-state drive (SSD) product portfolio. The website said a deal could be announced as early as next week.
ok so reuters are citing fudzilla as the source , so take with a pinch of salt - but a match made in hell if its true....

    Re: Seagate to buy ocz

since when is OCZ just a
    solid-state hard drive maker.
it could be not OCZ as a whole but just the SSD division of OCZ.
I don't think fudzilla is the source, well it's the source of the rumours, which in turn has caused a spike the the share value, just goes to show how moronic and knee jerk the whole stock system is.

    Smart move by Seagate.

Falling behind in the SSD area, can catch up instantly here.

Does show the power of money though...

    Re: Seagate to buy ocz

Well Seagate and Western Digital as far as i know don't have any SSD's and so buying into this area would give them an edge over WD by having both their momentus hybrid drives and OCZ's SSD's.
