from what i gather most mobo's after 2000 have them, but i may be wrong, i just want to know what you guys have it set to, i think it warns you about possible hard drive faults?

I find it very useful, and always have it on. It lets you know when a drive is close to failure so you can backup your data before it fails :)

S.M.A.R.T.
Smartdrv is a DOS util, as described above.
S.M.A.R.T. is the option in the BIOS to allow the BIOS/OS to read the SMART info off of HDD's.
I have it enabled and can see no reason not to enable it.
It allows you to read the temp of your HDD's and any serious issues will be flagged up.
So enable it. :)
SpeedFan will read the info but it's not the best tool I've used.
EDIT - The info it tells you, asides from temp, are things like hardware errors, retry counts, number of times spinned up (Powered up) etc.

Actually I planed to follow up on my post when others had contributed. My drives have it, and my mobo supports it as well! However I have not seen a setting for it in the bios... I use a program that gathers extra data from it, such as the noise settings and such! I am currently searching for a program that will allow me to adjust these settings... ;)
It does let you have stats like temperature and things like that from the drives but ive also heard that it lowers drive performance? I have no idea by how much though. You can see all the information from the drives if you get speed fan > S.M.A.R.T tab > and select the drive from the drop down menu.
