BUYING IN 15 MINUTES: Good matx board for e3-1240 (and was that a good buy?)
As above really, me and my brother are potentially thinking of upgrading our pcs, he wants to downsize to atleast a matx setup from his current i5 670 based atx system.
I'm thinking of upgrading my current llano 3870 build (potentially giving it to him as an upgrade)
What would people recommend for <£200 for a case, motherboard and cpu? (and possibly cooler)
Looking at matx/mitx
Budget if stretchable if needed :)
Thanks
Re: Potential upgrade, best cpu/board combo for £200?
Should I aim for SB or IB?
Or maybe something else entirely?
Re: Potential upgrade, best cpu/board combo for £200?
It's tough to say...200quid isn't going to give you the best of anything. You are at a guess looking at a i3 but then the motherboard choice will be tight as well.

Maybe those, I'm really not sure how the i3's perform though. The Asus board is a little cheaper than the Gigebyte board which I have the full version of.

The guy selling the I7 870 etc seems to have disappeared, and since I want to get this build going, I think I'm just going to go ahead and pretty much get what you suggested CAT.
However, since I ended up going for the v351, I could get a matx board, anything you would recommend above the board you linked?
If I go for a non k edition cpu, is there any advantage to a Z77 board over a H77?
Edit:
What about:
Xeon E3-1240
and

Re: Potential upgrade, best cpu/board combo for £200?

Ebay??:p
Re: Good matx board for e3-1240 (and was that a good buy?)
You're saying it wasn't a good deal so I shouldn't keep it?
How comes?
Equivalent to an i7 2600, surely a better buy than the i5 2400 new you suggested for instance? (unless I'm missing something big)
