Got my Ipaq!

Well it arrived today along with a Belkin Wireless Access Point and an Origo 802.11b CF card.

Works great Lovely little toy

My main question is with regards wireless range... How far can you lot go? Mine loses signal once I start going outside in the back garden (Other side of the house from the AP).

How might I be able to increase the range wtihout spending any money? Does changing the channels help? How about the encryption?

Chuck the AP in the loft or something if you can.

What iPaq did you go for in the end? I've been looking at the h4150, but it's a lot of cash.

I might be able to put it in the loft but it's not easy. I find changing channels makes a slight difference. 5 seems the best. Lol.

Cool I've often thought it would be cool to post on hexus with a PDA or something mobile Means you dont have to be sitting in front of a computer all the time. How does Hexus look on it? Is navigation easy?

I found one of the cool things about my palm Tungsten E is all the free ebooks you could get for it like on manybooks.net . Ok they are old books but still there is sime interesting stuff there

Hexus looks better than you might think. It's basically the same as viewing it on a PC but with a bit more scrolling It kinda condenses stuff but it's easy to use

You could always get an SD WiFi card for your Tungsten. Could be fun

Indeed I could but they are kind of expensive so I think I'll just wait for a few months and maybe get a PocketPC or Palm with integrated WiFi. Then sell my Tungsten to my brother

Its kind of handy with 2210 that it has an SD and CF card slot so you can have the Wifi card and an SD card in at the same time

Yeah When funds allow I'll probably grab a 128MB SD card or something.

Yeah PDAs make nice little Mp3 players Although I find even with a 512MB SD card you can only hold c4 albums at 320kbps which is pretty bad in comparison to the hardisk players.
Still good for shortish journeys or generally walking around.

If I wanted to play music while I'm at home I'd stream it wirelessly from my PC But I hvae my nice Mp3 player so there's no point.

Just encode it at 128kbps. I honest to god cannot tell the difference from a cd or a mp3 encoded at 128.

Hexus isn't one of the easier sites for it to render... Fair bit of scrolling is involved But as you can see it condenses it a lot to make it easier.

Just wish I could get my hands on some web browser software which allows you to browse in full-screen landscape mode...
