Question Pure Gaming Machine Round 2

    undefined

    Hey Guys,

thanks for all your input from b4 was much appreciated!!!!!!!!!! I took what you guys had to say and went anyway read more reviews and came up with a new list let me know what you guys think....................

    19" Hyundai Imagequest q995 Silver
    £145.64 inc from Aria

    Lian-Li PC-6070A
    £126.90 inc from Aria

    Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200XL Pro TwinX (2x512MB) CAS2 (MY-050-CS)
    £269.08 inc from OC

    NEC 2500 8X DVDRW - Silver
    £64.63 inc from Aria

    Asus K8V Deluxe
    £96.35 inc from Aria

    AMD Athlon64 3200 [2.00GHZ 200] RET
    £205.04 inc from Aria

ATi Radeon X800 Pro 256MB AGP
    £316.08 inc from Aria

    160G Maxtor DMax+9 SATA150/7200 8MB
    £74.03 inc from Aria

    Zalman Ultra Quiet PSU 400W
    £69.33 inc from Aria

Only one thing I wasn't sure about is what IMc said what the psu I choose the zalman coz its meant to be quiet, as I’m sick of my current comp sounding like its going to take off! I've looked at the Tagen 480W they seem to be good and a couple of quid cheaper, and if what IMc says about performance should I consider this over the zalman ........?

That system is going to be ultra nice.

I would say go with the Tagen 480watt, any good PSU will be quite and powerful.

Also, the Lian-li will make a huge difference to how loud the system is. If it isnt get some new quiter fans, and change the CPU fan to 120mm, or a quite 80mm fan. And itll be very quite.

    Good luck.

That's looking very nice indeed although I'm not so sure about that case on the queitness front since the accoustic material is rather minimal from review I read and manufacturers seem to badge everything as quiet these days. My experience of buying an Antec Sonata supposedly quiet PC case was quite alot louder than I had anticipated and louder than my previous rig so I ended up changing the supplied 120mm fan for better one. Personally I would hand pick the case, accoustic materials and fans yourself. IMO you can do a better job of it and for less money too if you don't go overboard on the case.

Have a look around this site http://www.whispertec.com/

I have a lian-li PC-60, and with 4 case fans it is quiet, and cools better than my steel case with 1 case fan - and the lian-li has some dust guarding material at the front...

Blockers, have you forgotten how to spell quiet? lol.

That looks very good - I would have questioned buying one item from somewhere else because of the p+p, however you can clearly afford it!

End of june most likely- they will be worth the wait though. Forget the raptors- put the money into the graphics

Blockers is right about the psu, zalman seems a bit of a waste of cash to be fair.

Thats shaping up very nicely mate

needs hell of an update now mr walibe might be worth the extra £50 to go s939 now.

Also consider Patriot ram £130 for a gig of low latency 5-2-3-2 (check bargains forum) meant to compare very well to that corsair for half the price.

I think you should seriously consider the PCV-1000 instead of the 6070. I also think you should have a good look around some other websites - you're paying over the odds for the CPU (You can get a 3400+ for that elsewhere, or a s939 3500+ for £40 more), and also for the DVDRW - You shouldn't be paying more than £50 for the DUAL LAYER 2510A, never mind the 2500A...I'd expect a 3500A for that price.

The x800 - you can get an x800 pro vivo for that at tekheads, which would flash to become an xt pe. If you're looking for pure quiet though, look into the HIS cards with the arctic cooler, and either a high end thermalright HSF or one from the Zalman 7000 series.

Look into the patriot stuff as well, it's an absolute bargain.

Yeah it does also the prices have dropped a little bit and i dont need a new montior now so i'm going for a raptor hard drive!

Seen a few people on forum on about the 939 but i might as well wait until the X800 XT are out then start a new list! Cant Wait
