SOOOOOOOOO close to killing another BIOS

David has kinda leant me a 6800 128mb DDR card

Bloody huge, and too long for my PC..so I had to move my SCSI drives up one....did so, unplugged the ribbon cables, slotted card in, booted to check it was seated.

No probs...and here is where Zakky killed it.....I powered down as the SCSI drives were searching.....

SCSI cables back on, and boot...BEEP BEEP BEEP....dead BIOS.

Re set CMOS, unplug, move jumper, wait 1 minute, move jumper back and re power.

    Nowt....

BUT..power off, move jumper and leave ALL night...
    Job done.

Zak33, The Horned Administrator and scourge of the BIOS chips.

Suppose its a good thing you have had so much practice in CMOS recovery.

Good job in prising the card away from David though

Sorry mate but how the fk you keep nuking bios is beyond me, I reckon you must have too much electrostatic charge on you, next time you piss about with a PC you need a wrist strap to keep your PC safe

    It truely is not GOOD...

do you think thats what it is TiG? Static?

I think its cos I try to power down half way though a boot up.

I know it SHOULDNT make a difference, and I have to tell you I NEVER have trouble with the non Nforce chipsets on any other PC's I have built...its just nForce2
