Is this a red-herring? but I have seen some discussion about CD drives not working after playing copy protected CD's. My own setup (CD-ROM and CD-RW drives) has recently stopped letting me copy from F: to G: (cd to cd burner) and I do not know why.

Can you please clarify? Are you talking protected audio cd's? Some protections install software on your computer without asking you....(unless you disable autoplay)
What do you use to copy? What brand drives do you have? What cd's have you played recently that you suspect??
