Thinking of getting a new mouse mat
As above, I'm considering getting a new mouse, currently have a CMStorm Sentinel Advance Zero-G or something like that.
I like it, just fancy a change :P
The size works quite well for me, and while my hands moves a fair amount on the mouse, I'm guessing I tend to use a palm grip, certainly while gaming atleast.
I'd like adjustable dpi (currently using 800), 2 side mouse buttons, and that's about it (obviously the normal 2 and scroll wheel)
Currently I'm thinking of getting a G400, any others I should look at?
Thanks
Re: Thinking of getting a new mouse
I've recently bought the Logitech G9X and love it to bits. It's up to on if you think its worth the price but coupled with a decent mouse mat and its very accurate for games and in my case 3D work & Photoshop use. It also goes all the way upto 5000dpi with varying levels from 400dpi onwards.
Logitech G9X
Or if you don't mind the branding this one is £15 cheaper
Logitech G9X MW3 Edition
This is experience is from using a Logitech MX1000 which has served me well for the best part of 6/7 years.

G500 for me, never liked the shape of the G9

I've considered the branded one since it's available for less than £35, meant to be pretty good.

What are the advantages of the G500 over the G400?

I think the placement of the + and - sensitivity buttons are a bit better, you have the button which allows you to turn on clickless/endless scrolling which can be quite useful, you have an indication of what sensitivity you are cutrrently set on, you can adjust the weight, higher max DPI, side to side scrolling and not just up and down...
you get the idea
Re: Thinking of getting a new mouse
Mm, most of those benefits I'm personally not bothered about, and some people say the G400 is better due to the higher polling rate

Why?
It's 3 times the price, what are the benefits?
Re: Thinking of getting a new mouse
ITs stupidly overprices I grant you but if you want Wireless performance thats as quick as wired performance then its the best there is.
THe battery lasts ages between charges and You get on the fly Sensitivity adjustment which is a boon in some games and also when doing Serious work as well.
When it comes down to it I guess its a totally ott mouse but I love mine and have been using it for over a year now with no regrets

Fair enough, but don't think it has anything I'm bothered about :P Certainly not worth 3 times as much as others.
Re: Thinking of getting a new mouse
Think I may for a Zowie EC1 EVO, since I can pick on up in good condition for £25
Re: Thinking of getting a new mouse
Well I went for the EC1, and it arrived today.
Love the look and feel of it, however it seems to suffer from skipping/negative acceleration :( May just be my pad, if it is I'll look at replacing it, since the mouse is lovely.
If it's not, then I'll look to get a refund and get another Zowie mouse possibly, since as I said, love the look and feel of them. Zowie AM looks awesome.
Re: Thinking of getting a new mouse
Tried it on my desk at uni, and it doesn't seem to have any problems, so am leaning towards getting a new mouse mat.
Been told the Artisan models are the best available, anyone here used one?
Any other recommendations? Thinking of trying a hard pad maybe?
Re: Thinking of getting a new mouse mat
I use the steelseries 4HD. It is excellent as far as I am concerned.
Very thin, very hard wearing, easy to clean and tracks perfectly.
Re: Thinking of getting a new mouse mat
I'm rocking a G500 and a BoogieBug XL. I really like the combination, just enough friction so the mouse doesn't fly around everywhere and not so much that you feel like you are having to force the mouse around. The DPI switching is easy and in a good position for your thumb.
