New Computer Desk
Looking for a new computer desk for my work/gaming PC. Would like one with a shelf for the machine (so it is raised off the floor, preferably without a back so there is room for air to flow), room for a 23" Monitor and plenty for room for Keyboard and Mouse, plus writing space. Got a budget of between £50-£70. Looked on the likes of Ikea, Asda, Tesco, Amazon, Staples and Argos, but not found anything that really stands out. Any suggestions?

Re: New Computer Desk
Do you have a British heart foundation furniture shop nr where you live if so they do have good quality second hand PC desks that fit you budget and they deliver

Re: New Computer Desk
for £50 to £70 a local charity shop or second hand shop is definitely your best option - that's a very tight budget. Alternatively hit ebay. Decent desks cost a lot of money: my last one cost around £120 from Ikea and the wife's was around £150 new iirc (we got hers off ebay though ;) ). There's a few charity shops that seem to specialise in furniture: Sue Ryder are usually quite good if you can find a local one.

Re: New Computer Desk
if you have some woodworking skills and have/can borrow some tools, I would buy a solid wood table top from IKEA - £25 to £35 and then build a base to fit exactly as you need.
Using pine and then finishing both with danish oil would look good and be under £100

Re: New Computer Desk
Thanks for all the advce, decided to spend the extra £15 and went for the Ikea GALANT desk for £85. Hope to add a monitor shelf to the desk at a later date, for a further £15.
Thanks again
