TV Tuner & Channel Frame rate...

I have a Leadtek WinFast DV2000 TV card & using the WinFast PVR Tuner/capture software.
I have tuned many TV channels, but even though the picture & colour quality is great & the motion is synchronized with the audio, the channel frame rate seems to be just a bit slower & sluggish, compared to a real TV.
It’s not terrible but the motion isn’t as natural as my real TV.
I live in Europe & all tuned channels are PAL.

I checked the settings of the card & software, but I didn’t find any option to fix this.

My system:
P4 2.4GHZ
768MBRAM PC800
GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB
SB Live 5.1
WinXP PRO SP1

Any ideas?

Do you mean jurky or lots of lines when there is movement going on?

Make sure overlay is enabled - often the cause of dropped frames.

Also make sure youve got the realtime recording/playback turned off. I forget what its called - where it can for example, record an hour program, and you can start watching it 10 mins later, before it finishes.. that usually slows it down a bit...

Lines I ment like when people move the picture breaks up into lines. nm if its actually jurky ... I'd check your overlay is enabled.

Yes overlay mode is enabled & there is another option: "Closed Captioning" which is not checked.

But they're both "grey" & can't change them even if I wanted to?!

Also "time shifting quality setting" is set to optimal quality.

"time shifting" is what I was refering to. Turn it off...
all it does is pre-record it to hdd, so you can watch it bck while its still recording.
You say its set to optimal quality, this likley means worse quality, possibly at a lower frame rate - which would explain the jurkyness..
Also it uses a lot of cpu time to encode to mpeg/mpeg2 on the fly - which is also very likley to cause it.

Overlay is a method of writing stuff to video memory. You want it on

closed captioning is like with teletext set to chan 888, with the captions, iirc.
