    building with £600

    Hello

How far will a budget of £600 be able to stretch in the building of a pc including a descent monitor, keyb and mouse. No need for software.
It is going to be for working so no need for components for gaming and overclocking, not bothered whether Intel or Amd.
To start think might go for the antec sonato case with 380w psu. What do you folks think. Can I get suggested specs please.

    Wires.

What type of monitor would you like- TFT or CRT?

Also what sort of work will you be doing?

If you go with tft you'll probably be restricted to a socket A system.
Getting a CRT might free enough funds for Athlon 64.

You can get a decent 17" TFT for £250, or a decent 19" CRT for maybe £130. I personally like CRTs so I'd spend the money saved on other bits, but it's you who's going to be using the comp at the end of the day.

Do you have an OS or will you have to cover Microshaft WinXP as part of your budget?
