    I got a new toy...

    .... something you can't buy....

    Ever heard of Cray?



    The Met office was removing their old one - I have managed to get a Processor module from one...





    24 Layer PCB -
    4 DEC Alpha 450MHz CPUs and 2GB Ram on EACH BOARD.

    3, 2 production systems liquid cooled and 1 smaller 64 processor i think air cooled machine to test code on

    system A had 1066 CPU's i think, System B had around 600



    The MET office had over 1000 of these boards in 1 machine

    You can't use it for anything - it is a piece of history - I just have Processor board, nothing else.

    When you decommision a cray they physically cripple the machine - remove parts so even if you had a full one it wouldnt work.
