    Question Building my first PC!

Hi, so sometime in the not too distant future i would like to try and build my first PC. I was thinking of trying to start with using kit thats not too expensive but will keep up with modern applicatins and games ok, i.e and athalon xp 2000+ or something along those lines. Now because it would be my first PC i was wondering if you guys could recommend the most easy to configure and reliable motherboard, case, power supply etc...and possibly where to get it from, for someone who is just starting out like myself. I would say i would like to keep it as cheap as possible but with the sort of power an 2000-2400xp could deliver. Thanks, John.

just a quick spec something like:

    athlon xp 2500
    abit nf7-s
    120gig harddrive
    512 megs of ram pc3200
    dvd writer
antec / cwt / tagan power supply
    case of your choice..

    that's approx £400 there..

can be made slightly cheaper if necessary ...

Hi there. I've just replaced the guts of my machine. If you are interested, I have a decent ABit mobo (with all the latest drivers), an *unlocked* Athlon XP 2400, 768MB of Corsair RAM, GForce4 Ti4600 graphics card and a 40 speed CD ROM. Slap a case/disk drive around that lot and the jobs done!

Let me know if you are interested. I'll throw in 'support' to get you up-and-running. :-)

    £150 + P&P

EDIT: That includes a Taisol heatsink and fan. Mobo is boxed with all cables, manuals, etc. If interested, drop me an email at "toneline" at "fsmail.net". Not negociable on price, as if doesn't sell I'll just use it to build a second PC for myself.

Ps. Sorry to have hijacked your thread! :-) Lets take this offline before an Admin jumps on us. :-)
