Avoid Asus for any AMD motherboards
With Vishera being released, companies like Gigabyte and others are releasing new BIOSes.
Obviously, not the scummy company known as Asus:

If you check their website, they only list their "new" R2.0 motherboards as being compatible. Gigabyte have released updates for all their 970 and 990 series AM3+ motherboards it seems.
Now,it could be quite possible, that someone might release a hacked BIOS or you might be able to use an existing BD compatible BIOS,but this is a VERY poor show on the part of Asus.
Edit!!
It gets worse:

So they have a compatible BIOS and then tell people to buy an R2.0 motherboard?? LOLWTF??
Re: Avoid Asus for any AMD motherboards
I'm not going to make a judgement against ASUS yet, maybe ASUS haven't got around to releasing a BIOS with official Vishera compatibility for the earlier board revisions yet.
Afterall, there have been Vishera reviews including Hexus which have used ASUS non Rev 2.0 boards.
Re: Avoid Asus for any AMD motherboards
Yeah, Asus' UK site doesn't even list the R2.0 Formula.
Re: Avoid Asus for any AMD motherboards
Give it a few weeks and see if anything changes, but ASUS have always been terrible with BIOS updates. It's the main reason I go with Gigabyte (and UK support) over ASUS.

I'm glad I went for the M5A99X EVO R2.0 and not The 'non R2.0' version. I've had bad experiances with asus but I still went with their motherboards due to it have more features over gigabyte and MSI.
