Temperatures

I'm running totally stock at the moment and when idling in Windows my CPU is running at 48/49C and my Mobo at 30C and after running 3DMark 2003, the CPU is at 62C, and the Mobo at 33C (using "Asus Probe 2"), although it drops down to idle temps within just five minutes. This seems to me to be high, but more worrying are the temps in my BIOS. Looking at the hardware monitor in my BIOS my PC runs at 55C and when I had the side of the case off earlier it was running at 60.5C before I powered down and put the side back on (wanted to check all the fans were running ). Surely the BIOS should be even less of a load than Windows???

I've just spent an hour or so sorting out the cables inside the case so there's pretty much nothing blocking the airflow through the case - all the cables are either up by the PSU; in the top, spare 5.25" drive bay or in the space to the RHS of the hard drive bays ... Antec Sonata, so the HDD bays are at the bottom of the case.

I'm a little stumped. I was about to do some overclocking of my RAM/CPU (see the X800XT benchmark thread), but wanted to sort my temps/airflow out before that so does anyone have any suggestions?

Athlon64s are under warrenty above 60 , mine runs at 50c idle, with the stock cooler.

Cable management, and obviously having good case airflow are important, I have, as well as the stock coolers on my GPU and CPU of course, 3 Coolermaster fans, 1 intake, 1 exhaust and 1 blowing onto the motherboard, as well as an Akasa fan positioned to blow onto the RAM, between the 2 sticks.

The cooling my in Coolermaster is far better than the cooling in my old V770 case, but my Athlon64 still runs hotter than my 2600+ T-Bred. I don't think you've much to worry about, although a high-end ThermalTake cooler, like the SLK900U and an 80mm Vantec Tornado on full pelt will knock the CPU temp down by a few degrees.
