Problem with ASUS K8VSE and Radeon 9200

    Lo guys,

Just finished putting my new rig together, it's an AMD Athlon 64 2800, ASUS K8VSE, i plugged the Radeon 9200 in, and fired the rig up, nothing else attached, just the monitor. The fan on the CPU spins, as does the fan on the graphics card, but the monitor displays "No signal" etc. This is the case with another card i tested - Radeon 7500... Any ideas? The 9200 didn't seem to fit all that well, i.e. getting the backing plate on the card to attach to the back of the case..

    Cheers

    Dan

It might be that your graphics cards are not able to sit in the AGP slot properly as you surmised.
Are you getting any beep codes. Have you checked your memory is slotted in properly.

You can take the mobo out of the case and rest it on a couple of bits of wood. Slot your graphics card in firmly , connect power and on/of switch etc. Fire it up briefly just to see if you get a signal to the monitor.
I always test my mobos like this before I put them in a case.
