    safe PSU for a allways on box

    im building a "allways on PC box" will be based on a shuttle board i have, i will put a duron (or similar) in it

    it will have a HD and a DVDR

    will allways be on, a little server and a MP3 player

    can some1 recommend me a cheapish SAFE power supply
    My Setup:
    ABIT NF7-S V2.0 Mobo
    XP1700 OEM Thoroughbred cores JIUHB DUT3C O/C'ed 2080mhz from 12.5x166
    Coolermaster XDream HAC-V81 XP2800+
    TwinMOS PC2700 DDR-DIMM 256MB

    I use two brands in My 2 PCs, One is an Antec and the other is an Enermax, I'd stay away from the no name type of power supply. And thes 2 computers do stay on 24/7 and You can see My 2 PCs specs down in My Sig too:

    No My sig was reduced, I just displayed My sigs specs thinking that My sig for some reason wouldn't appear, I subscribe to a lot of forums, Keeping all of their sig requirements straight is a pain.

    There that should be better, It's more than 6, But It's really compact in size.

    hang on, if your getting a shuttle, keep the PSU! firstly an ATX psu wont fit in a shuttle box

    secondly shuttle psus really are pretty damn good

    no its a shuttle mobo (remmber they were real cheap at BP a while back)

    the shuttle mobo will be fitted in a normal case (just dont trust those cheapo PSU's from ebuyer cases )

    550w, or 450w Meridian from scan, they are the same as antecs, and cost about half.

    get the chieftec 360w from ocuk
    i have one and its works fine
    only reboot my pc every 2 weeks, never turned it off, cept when adding new hardware

    btw they use the same internals as antec

    try http://www.tradeprice.co.uk they do a INWIN ATX IW-S508-IW case with 300w FSP psu for £34.53 inc pp.
    Inwins make nice cases and the FSP psu are really good
