Help with first time build with SB61G2 v3.0

    Hi

Yesterday a built my first DIY PC with the following specs

    Shuttle SB61G2 v3.0
    3.0 Ghz P4 Prescott
    1Gb Kingmax DDR400 Turbo
    120Gb SATA Seagate Barracuda
    128mb Sapphire 9800 Pro

Everything seem to go ok and I managed to get XP up and running without any problems. Unfortunately though I have a problem during start-up.

Everytime I turn on the PC I get the following error message before XP loads

"The boot devices have been changed. BBS boot priority will be affected. Please enter setup to check"

When I enter setup and exit without sacing, XP loads and everything seems fine. This has left me confused and I'm not sure what the problem is. I have no need for a floppy drive so have not put one in so this might be the problem but I'm not sure.

    Has anyone got any advise?

Thanks in advance for your time.

    Andy

Not putting in a floppy drive won't cause any problems. This is true as my shuttle operates fine without one and i know many others that are configured the same. Enter into the BIOS and verify the boot order is correct. Should be ok o0

    Thanks for the reply.

I have managed to resolve the issue now. There was a setting in the bios to do with hard drive setup that was set to 'auto'. Having changed this to 'SATA only' now means that my brand new shuttle starts up like a dream.

I'd second the floppy thing because I tried that first with no difference.
