    Psu U hoo

ok guys ive had a wee gippy generic 300watt psu in my rig for a long time now, and the time has come to upgrade all i can really afford is 40quid and this dude i know is just gonna sell one its a Zalman ZM400A-APF 400W PSU, it seems pretty good,a nd i dont know much about rails and stuff but it seems good, from reviews, could anyone tell em if i shou7dl get this, cos its 40quid, and thats my budget.
The only thign that discouraged me was that it is 400watt, do i really need more than that, could i posibly get a better overclock from this 400watt than my generic 300w?

    thanks guys

can no1 help me on this?

its possible to get better overclocks with a better psu...

for £40 you can get a CWT one from Scan, which are acutually rebadged antec ones so pretty good...

or a hiper one from komplett are pretty good too...

the zalman ones is suppose to be quiet good, depends what state it is in, and how much they are brand new... basically the larger the rails the better it is... generally speaking...

i recently bought my g/f a 380 watt antec one which i know is good enough for her.

oh and don't worry about buying too much as its always a god future proof.... and won't mean it uses up more electricity or anything..

I have a 350 Hiper PSU I would have got a 550w but they've got two fans and that means noise. The 350 is runing a 9800, 2500Xp, Nf7-s, 1x512Mb. All voltage are stable. It was around €37.

Should be okay. If you can stretch to 50 I hear the Thermaltake (?) Butterfly 480w is quite good (pretty too if you have a window) and would probably be more future proof.
