    Fuji S5000.

Fuji S5000, £217 at eBuyer, anyone want to suggest a better camera at the same or a cheaper price, or is it, as the reviews I've read seem to say, the best bang for buck at that level avalible?

    Cheers.

Oh, if you know where to get it for less, give us a shout. Cheaper at Amazon, but not in stock.

personally id go for the z2 it gets better review scores and has better features and image quality i think

and THAT was as important as all the rest

my Dad has this camera...he gt it when it came out and it was big dough. It is very very good indeed and video work with the optical zoom is superb. Only thing is it likes to do 30 seconds at a time.

Lovely feel to it....you might wanna consider a set of AA rechargeables tho.

My Dads one holds two diff types of media...is it the same for this one?

Got 8 AA rechargeables already for my 2800z This takes XD cards, so I went for the 256Mb jobbie bundled with it

Yeah - there good although the CCD has really been pushed too far as the grain at higher ISO levels is quite high (although not as bad as something like an FZ10) and the exposure time is limited to 2seconds - which for what I enjoy photographing isn't really enough. If you have to have something that looks the part (although sometimes maybe isn't quite) then its best around for the price although personally going on performance the Dimage Z1 is better (and slighlty cheaper) or the Z2 which is a little more but has a few more features. I was going to buy one although didn't bother, I have a cheapo 2MPix digi for snaps but a decent Nikon F55 for taking 'photos'
