which one of these laptops would you buy?

    hi there

well the time has come for me to take the plunge into the world of laptops which ive wanted to do for so long now,i very rarely play games these days so theres realy no need to have 2 shuttles anymore so im gonna sell 1 of them to make way for sum portable goodness.

problem is,i realy dont wanna have to spend over £800 for a lappy and i still wanna play games from time to time onit so i was told about these acer lappys which are supposed to be quite decent machines and judging by there onboard graffics etc they look mint so im wondering which of these would you go for if you were on a budget of around £800,would it be:the pentium 4 or the athlon 64 ,any help would be greatly appreciated thnx.

    mic.

edit: sorry just checked those links and they just take you to acer main site,,the laptops in question are the aspire 1511 LMi (amd 64) and the aspire 1620 (pentium 4) ,thnx again.

    hi micovwar
why go for a P4 or Amd64 when a fast centrino with 2MB L2 Cache and a ATI 9800M will do the job and offer best battery life and less Heat problems which you need to look out for with laptops.

Micovwar - Caged asking you to reduce your sig is a fair request, plus he is a moderator!

Sig rules have only been in place for the last 3 months or so. In addition with only 286 posts it's not exactly beyond the realms of probability for a mod to not have noticed your sig in the last 3 months. Rules are rules I'm afraid

That being said, please get the thread back on track

i have no problem with the rules az ile change the sig without delay.

well my new lappy came yesterday and i have to say im well impressed withit (albeit battery lifes only bout 2 hours) this lil beuty is a perfect replacement for 1 of my shuttles and im astounded by how fast it is for a lappy, games run amazingly well on the geforce go fx5700 graphics,i was playing generals and zero hour lastnight @ 1024 768 with anti aliasing an it was flying along,it scored over 12000 on 3dmark 2001 aswell (better than my ti4200 lol) im gonna try some stressful games later on like vice city and farcry etc.

im curious as to why the 64it 3000+ only registers @ 1.79ghz as i could of swore they were a 2ghz chip could any1 shed more light on this please (not that im complaining ofcourse) ile take sum pictures later on an post em if any1 wud like to see it in detail.

    thnx.

    mic.
